Anne is a Director of Howard Partners and an expert in marketing communication strategy development and implementation.
Anne specialises in integrating social technologies into an organisation’s corporate and communication strategies to achieve better interaction and engagement with multiple stakeholders.
With twenty years’ experience as a communication professional, Anne’s research and strategic communication management skills have been behind the design and implementation of a number of national awareness, marketing and education campaigns. These campaigns resulted not only in attitude and behavioural change within communities, but also in gaining strong buy-in from stakeholders.
Anne works with all levels of government as well as with universities, research organisations and industry associations. During 2012, Anne completed a national research project into the use of social media by local government for the Australian Centre of Excellence in Local Government (ACELG). The Report of the project entitled, Connecting with Communities was published by ACELG in August 2012.
Prior to joining Howard Partners in 1999, Anne was the inaugural CEO of the Australian Venture Capital Association (AVCAL) where she was instrumental in building a strong and viable industry organisation. Anne was subsequently Executive Director of Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia (KCA).
Over many years, Anne has undertaken research, analysis, consultation and facilitation for the firm’s public policy, management strategy, and communication projects. This has included such projects as the Study of the ACT Innovation System, the Fire Knowledge Networks, New Industries Development Program, and the eWater CRC strategic review.
Anne holds a BA in Strategic Communication, majoring in Public Relations, Marketing and Psychology. More recently, Anne completed a Master in Information Studies majoring in Internet Communication. She has been a Member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (MPRIA) since 1990, and is a Global Affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, (CIPR) London. Anne held the position of full time Course Convener and Lecturer in Communication Theory and Public Relations Strategy at the University of Canberra during the early 1990s.
Anne was a member of the NSW Innovation Council and served on three Working Groups: Culture Change, Regional Development, and Biotechnology. Anne has also served on committees working in the areas of Innovation and Research Commercialisation.
