Development of a Knowledge Network for the Bushfire CRC (2006)
Howard Partners was invited to assist the Bushfire CRC with its planning for a Fire Knowledge Network. A knowledge network is seen as an arrangement where creators (suppliers) of knowledge – stakeholders in the Bushfire CRC - communicate through various channels with current and potential users. Users may be other creators or end users (adopters).
The project has focussed on the type of information and knowledge that would be made available through the network and the people and organisations who would make it available. It also examines the role of intermediaries in transferring and translating knowledge for end user adoption and application. The project also addressed the way in which end users can transfer practical knowledge through to researchers for analysis and compilation of ‘lessons learned’ guidance.
