(Completed) Role of Intermediaries in Support of Innovation (2007)

Howard Partners was successful in a tender from the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources to examine and report on the Role of Intermediaries in Support of Innovation.

The Project Brief identifies intermediaries as generally independent third parties that play an integral part in collaborative activities supporting any aspect of the innovation p rocess for the nutual benefit of two or more parties.  Such intermediary activities include:

  • assistance in the recognition, acquisition and utilisation of relevant intellectual property or technology;
  • identifying potential collaborators;
  • brokering a transaction between two or more parties;
  • acting as a mediator, or go-between, with bodies or organisations athat are already collaborating; and
  • identifying and tailoring advice, funding and support for the innovation outcomes of such collaborations.
