Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia Metrics Report 2005-2007 (2008)

During 2008, Howard Partners was retained by Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia (KCA) to carry out the survey into commercialisation of public sector research for the three years from 2005-2007.

The survey and report contains the aggregated data for the Australian public sector research organisations, including 23 of the 25 member universities, the CSIRO, and the Defence Science and Technology Organisation.

The report highlights that during the past three years, KCA members have contracts and consultancies with industry, business, and other external agencies that are almost $1 billion per annum.  In addition, licensing, option and assignment income grew to almost $195 million in 2007.
